VISEGRAD CONCERT

 

The VISEGRAD CONCERT took place in Royal Baths Park [Łazienki Królewskie] in Warsaw on 20th of July 2019 at 1 pm.

 

In the program:

Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák Vittorio Monti, Ferenc Liszt and Aleksandra Chmielewska.

 

Artists:

Marek Roszkowski – the 1st oboist of Polish Royal Opera and Płock Symphonic Orchestra [Płocka Orkiestra Symfoniczna]. For many years he performed at St. Martin in the Fields in London by playing many solo concerts. As part of both editions of Lutosławski Forum Festival in National Philharmonic in Warsaw he performed in the Vaughn Williams Oboe Concert and W. Lutosławski Oboe and Harp Concert, whereas during Mozart Festival organized at Royal Castle [Zamek Królewski] in Warsaw he performed several times W.A. Mozart's oboe Concert. One of the most prominent pianists in the world - Krystian Zimerman, personally designated Marek Roszkowski as the 1st oboist of the Polish Festival Orchestra. They played many concerts together in the most famous concerts halls in the world, such as Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Hall Pleyel in Paris or Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as they recorded two F. Chopin's concerts for the Deutsche Grammophon in 1999. The artist also records jazz music in cooperation with musicians such as pianist Krzysztof Herdzin or the saxophonist Grzech Piotrowski, with whom he co-created World Orchestra.

 

Aleksandra Chmielewska – a Composer connected with the Warsaw Center, the chairman of Polish Young Composers Group [Koło Młodych Związku Kompozytorów Polskich], the member of the board of Europe's Musical Talents Foundation [Fundacja Muzyczne Talenty Europy]. She arranges orchestral, choral and chamber music compositions which are eagerly performed by foreign and polish ensembles and are registered on discs and published in print - she cooperates on a regular basis with Dutch musical notes publishing house - Donemus. She is interested in correlations between music and visual effects - hence many of her compositions are of programmatic nature. In her music she mainly searches for a deepened emotional connection with the audience. Currently she is working on her PhD - an opera about life of the Mexican painter - Frida Kahlo.

She received 1st Award in an International Composition Competition - Transatlantic Instant Composition Contest - for motion picture grand piano improvisation.
